For everyone who remains patient, faithful and hopeful in spite of discouragement, disappointment and broken dreams.

There’s nothing

you could give more-

have given

your best shot,

have thrown out

your last,

have laid down

all your cards,

have offered

your everything.

Yet, after all the things

have been said

and done,

you are still here-

waiting,

dreaming,

hoping

for that much-awaited

sunshine

breaking through

the dawn;

for its promise of warmth

to melt away the chill

shrouding your heart.

Because

for all it’s worth,

you are what you are;

and you remain

true to your essence-

patient and persistent,

faithful and hopeful-

as always.
