As I gaze across the land

I look at you and hold your hand

The hills that yearn for summer warmth

Embrace the skies and wait for dawn

They encompass us like entwining light

As I gaze the land and embrace the night

I gaze at you as I hold your hand

As I hear the sound of falling sand

The sound I’ve heard many times before

Slips through the hourglass and is no more

Is this the way that things now are
