A visit to the beach just before the rain.
AS I SAT ALONE UPON A BEACH
The whitecaps foam,
And the tide does dash,
Pipeline’s oblique,
And hits the shore at a slash;
Breezes gust,
The sound so soft,
Becomes a cry,
A loud thunderous cough;
Nature’s warriors,
Of shore, sand, and wave,
Take on the battle,
Giving all that they gave;
Clouds above lower,
Threatening this spectacle below,
While waves beat the shore,
Oblivious to the blow.
