A poem on rain.

This photo was taken on our way back from the sanctuary.
The sky tanks overflow
fills our dry tanks below
the vegetation, emerald
the sun shines its gold
earth’s marvels allure, how they unfold.
A play of sun and shade amongst the lush green
a rejuvenating scene
and the foliage
a swaying engage
the rain and vapour
shuttles a silver yarn
from sky to earth and back to sky
we recall those days dry,
just thinking will never do
the lands are parched, they crackle
their prolonged summer battle
harvesting rain water
could see us through.
