I find as we age we start looking back over the years of our life, sort of a self appraisal I guess, and in doing so we getting a picture of where we have been and how far we have come through the years, weigh our values. Read more…

AS I’VE GROWN OLDER

It seems as I grow older that

I’m looking back on yesterday,

at the good times and the troubles

and the changes in the way

I live my life, what I believe,

yet each day I more appreciate

the things I have and I have not

and I find more to celebrate

each morning when I wake up

to greet a brand new dawn

and I sometimes wonder where,

at how quickly time has gone;

all those changes that my life has seen

and how fast my children grew,

and grandchildren, seems growing up to fast,

how quickly from the nest they flew;

all those things I have accomplished,

all those things I dreamed I’d do

and those things that never happened…

Oh how rapidly time flew.

I think a lot about my life

and what time may remain

and all in all, life has been good

and I really can’t complain.

I’ve made mistakes and done some good

on the path in life I’ve trod

but the greatest joy my life has known

is in time spent serving God.
