The dream of freedom and America, and what it means to reach for this!
ASPIRE
A dream was dreamed, And, oh, supreme!
A vast idea, Too bold it seemed,
The world in wait, What was our fate?
Would we succeed – Or vacillate?
The vision cleared, We stopped our fears,
A war for freedom had come dear;
Ambition’s fire, Our heart’s desire,
Liberty gained with hands inspired!
To take, to hold, What’s ours from old,
Our freedom’s kept when we are bold,
A dream was dreamed, To some it seemed,
A flight of fancy without scheme;
Of those who know, With toil we’ll grow,
Helping ever liberty’s flow;
Those who cherish – Freedom’s parish,
From the earth, we will not perish!
