This poem is based off of a particular connection that I figured out recently. Although the actual idea is about a month old, it took me a little while to figure out how exactly I was going to write it. I’ll leave it to the reader to figure out my connection. Comments are open.

Astronaut

Water

And Blood.

Without

Much

Of a clue

As to what

The world

May be.

The lifeless

Life

And from

The outside

It is

Quite lifeless.

Floating around

Up there.

In an

Suit

Made for this.

Safely

Secure.

Hardly any

Sounds

Yet the smallest

Sounds

Count the most.

It’s all

One

Tremendous

Journey.

No one

Can

Remember.

A lifeless form

With all

The life

Inside it.

A Tiny Speck

From Earth.

To look up

Into the sky

And know

That it

Will come down

Soon.

We were once

All but Astronauts

Coming

And going.

In Blood

And Water

And no oxygen

Except

From the cord

That leads

To the spaceship.
