Mature son at Father’s bedside in a hospital for terminally ill patients.
He looked upon the picture
Of a child from his bed of woe…
now so familiar to him.
He smiled from deep within
Yet did not know…
that the child was his next of kin.
I couldn’t hide my pain the way that he hid his,
As he took a turn for the worse…
Had he made his peace as his world grew dim -
What would be his parting curse?
