A delicate chance.

Underneath the skyline
Glows the softest shade
Of alabaster
A lime light shimmering
Quietly,
In Autumn’s afternoon
And still
The evening ends
Often, far too soon
Drifting away
Like fallen leaves
Serenely settling
Into tomorrow’s eve
Arms embrace lonely smiles
And caress away
The hourglass
Of endless miles
Thoughts of romance
And simple things
Are never misplaced
Or wasted dreams
Move closer to love
Draw nearer to those
Whose eyes and hearts
Shine kindness dear
And, still, so quietly
In Autumn’s afternoon
The evening ends
Often, far too soon
