This poem was written when I looked into a mirror one day and saw this old timer looking at me. His face was a little on the wrinkled side and had an astonished look on it. That’s when I uttered these words, Aw shucks, Old timer!

Aw shucks, old timer!

I guess you know me now.

If I give you more courage,

You’ll get along somehow.

Aw Shucks, my brother!

Don’t take away my name.

I’ll show the world I can

Run a much better game.

Aw shucks,

 mister old timer!

You’re much confused I see.

But be of good cheer my brother

And find your comfort in me!

Very nice poem! You are only as old as you feel, usually. My daughter is going to be 39 this December and everybody tries to give her either 16 and under or 12 and under when we go places. She thinks she isn’t taken seriously. I still say your a nice young man. Look at me, I’m 69 and nobody thinks I think old.
