A poem about Springs delay and winter hanging around over long this year.
Spring where have you gone on this cold wintery April Day
Will you arrive sweet Spring by the first of May?
Old man winter has lingered overly long
The earth cries out for springs sweet song
But wintery winds continue to blow
The ground is once again covered with snow
March has come and gone away
Spring has not yet come to to stay
April showers were laden with snow
Old man winter why won’t you go?
Tulips and Peonies have pushed shoots through the snow
But winter winds continue to blow
Tis been six months Winter has hung around
I am hoping soon to see earth bared ground
Spring please come out and play
We hope you will come awile to stay
Warm the earth let the sun come out to stay
So mother natures children can come out to play
Spring flowers need to open in bloom
We need a warm bright yellow moon
Go away winter retire awhile
We are longing for Springs warming
