A lyrical poem about men of greed and power who in their quest are destroying our peaceful world.
Away, Fractious Men
By Tony DeLorger © 2011
The chilling blade of bad intent,
invades my flesh, the message sent.
I can only dream of a world in peace,
but bitter men of scorn release.
The hurt and desecration hold,
A secret power and malice told.
These men that propagate the lie,
tear down the good and just belie.
Their weapons sharp, their minds a blur,
their shallow aim to wound and slur.
A fight for right never-ending rages,
to rebuild history and turn the pages.
Construct a future not an echo found,
and transform the thoughts of men resound.
For beginnings offer a redemptive course,
far from past and sad remorse.
Give us strength to cull the hoards,
whose bad intent does hinder course.
Forever right be on our side,
and future flourish and peace reside.
