The war on terror needs better definition.

Fireballs exploded sending a country into shock
Retribution collided with a nation’s ideals
Calamity’s clamor heard from falling debris
Rushing to ground zero, who would be found?
Spectators in Awe: New Yorkers, Flight 93, even Mother Nature was stunned!
Helplessly watching as the world changed
The after man, religious radicals ushered in shock and awe
This was not the first time history staged a holy war
Terror feigned and skirmishes erupted
Rest in peace fathers, daughters, brothers and wives
Soldiers were sent so your memories survive
Quietly, time slips away cloaked in virgin blood
Terrorism won’t end by squeezing a trigger
Foreigners internalize American deeds.
Shock and awe although needed initially,
Conditionally, military action diminishes future dreams.

Wow, this poem was very intense. Full of great phrases, “Helplessly watching as the world changed” and “Conditionally, military action diminishes future dreams.” You packed a lot of punch in a few words, this is a sign of a great poet.
