Humorous poem about returning back to school.

Image via Wikipedia

Another school year,

More homework I fear.

No more time at the beach.

It’s time to listen to Teach.

Math problems are a chore,

But it something that you can’t ignore.

Back to playing your clarinet,

Do it right or your teacher will be upset.

A big writing project begins real soon.

I hear it’s due by the first full moon.

And gym class will be especially tough,

You have a new instructor named Mr. Gruff.

You’re going to have three novels to read.

One of them is titled “How to Succeed.”

Science class will be a blast.

Don’t mix the wrong chemicals or you’ll get a rash.

At the end of a very long day,

You’re ready for the calendar to turn to May.
