That’s all my daughter ate while pregnant to my wonderful grandson!

A Poem for Justin Jay

Bacon frying in the pan

Peeling oranges with my hands

Catering to my daughter’s palette

Knowing bacon and oranges were here favorites

That was twenty-one years ago

But the memories still stand strong

Of my little girl being fourteen

Pregnant and in her teens

Premature the baby was born

Through him the work of God was shown

A baby born with a will to live

With an abundance of love to give

Bacon frying in the pan

Peeling oranges with my hands

Once in a while a I sneak a look

While she read baby books

Couldn’t come up with a name

Last minute the miniature boy became Justin Jay

One pound 13ounces of loving glory

That brings me back to the story

Of this wonderful bundle of joy

Today’s a man that father a boy

Memories that will forever live

Of a cold January night a baby was born with an abundance love to give

Into a world that he will come to know

As days become memories untold

But one thing is for sure

My baby’s pain that we all endured

Turned to this poem of great delight

That I recite everyday deep in my mind

Bacon frying in the pan

Peeling oranges with my hands

Certainly this story’s true

Why would I remember it if I didn’t love you!

Dedicated to my grandson Justin Jay, who through the mercy of God is here. There is a great plan for him. God bless him, his beautiful son and his family may the light of God shine on him always.

Love

Grammy

God bless you and yours. That was a great story told poetically. My fruit is just beginning to turn. I’ll hold one for you.
