Poem About Why We Fall in Love With the Bad Boys.
Victim of nature I fell into your bad boy’s charm
Your flattering words swirled around me like a bee swarm
Made dizzy with that cocky grin
When you took your fingers to lift up my chin
And search my own with the greenest eyes
Only that bad as you are, in sheeps clothing disguised
Oh where are you going?
The red lit clock read three in the morning
“Out” was your only answer and final answer at that
Prince on the white horse is now a carnivorous rat
Weekends I dreaded even when the sun was bright in spring
Because you’d sleep in at day, at night pursue your fling
After countless nights holed up in my room
Out goes the rat, I the witch sweeping swift with my broom
Later I ask my therapist why did I get into such rat trap?
Those fit genes of evolution draw women to his lap
There must be something wrong, very wrong with me
Still to this day Bad Boy makes my body shudder with glee
With cocky grin and voracious white teeth
Never mind that as a rat he lives in the wet sewers beneath
Bad Boys anonymous I make my addiction known
The fruits of my errors I’ve come to own
Sowing wild oats without reaping them later
His moment’s desires demand to be catered
Bad boy will be bad til death do us part
Ode to me the witch with the iron heart
Swiftly sweeping out the dust with the broom
I run forward in the warm spring to finally bloom
