This is a poem about my bad habit. Although you can see this poem for any bad habit you may have.

Bad Habits

After a few hits you’re officially hooked,

Unable to go a day without just a puff,

The inhalation of everything that is wrong for you,

But you don’t care,

It’s your life and you can do what you want to,

No one can reason with you,

They can’t make you see the light,

That each time you give in,

You’ve lost another fight,

There are always moments of clarity,

Like a drunk who finally sees,

Like the swig of the drink is not worth his dignity,

 You want to quit,

Take no more hits,

But when the temptation is staring you in the face ,

It’s hard to look away,

You rationalize,

Just one more time,

You promise that this time is the last time,

You try to end it but it feels so good,

A familiar touch that brings you back to your comfort zone,

The artificial ones just can’t make you feel the way this does,

Can’t get away so you think maybe I’ll just stay,

Until the day comes when I no longer need you this way,

My crutch to which I cling to,

Don’t want to stand on my own two feet if I don’t have to,

It sounds incredibly awful,

But when it’s time I’ll know,

It’s time to let go,

Won’t rush the process,

I’ll just let it flow,

Bad habits are hard to quit,

Especially one that feels as good as this!!
