A poem about the passages of life.

“Bags”

by Al Grella

Youth is for the sampling

Of life’s “grab bag” full of surprises.

Mid-life often creates the illusion

That one “has it all in the bag.”

The “Golden Years” bring us the confidence that often comes

With the realization that the “cat’s been let out of the bag.”
