Banksy Art has created a wave of copycat vandalism that threatens to convert all our public spaces into wall boards of unattractive misdirected political statements.

The world we live in is paved with stupidity; religious extremism; battle of the sexes; politicians; half man half piranha chimera super soldiers (they can’t be toilet trained); Paris Hilton; politicians; declaration of war against the Jovian descendants that live in the dark side of the moon; politicians; the Big Brother house; and of course unabated access to the Internet.

We live in an age where the Internet is no mere luxury but is instead nearly considered a basic human right. If you try and take the Internet away from the current incarnation of teenagers they are likely to kill you, chop you up into 12 pieces, bury you in the backyards of 12 of their best friends, and then be acquitted by a jury of idiots because you were forced to listen to songs by Miley Cyrus 3 days a week on the way to school. The problem with the Internet though is that everyone is allowed to use it – even stupid people.

When stupid people get to use the Internet, not only do people like George W Bush get elected TWICE, but people get behind stupid meaningless crazes, like the current Banksy Facebook revolution – as per the Banksy Facebook Revolution web site. The numb minded droids of popular culture promote the works of a snot nosed punk graffiti vandal and convince all the other puss brains that it’s the cool thing to do. It doesn’t take a genetically modified super ferret souped up on speed to realise that this is going to lead to anarchy. No, all it takes is a cat tearing through the house, driven crazy by the need to do a crap but can’t because the cat flap is jammed, to realise this will lead to anarchy. It has in fact already begun.

It has become apparent that the reckless actions of the terrorist known as Banksy have spawned a spate of copycat graffiti. The below image was taken recently at a popular Australian beach.

Image by Author. Oh the horror!

At first glance it very much looks like a Banksy piece. There is the hand that is giving the quite familiar signal of contempt – often seen at primary schools today when parents are advised their children are misbehaving in class. The statement of “Up Ya Bum” is consistent with the Banksy rejection of political, social, religious and moral constructs that all decent and wise humans hold dear. The message is incredibly controversial and upsetting – after all he has underlined “bum” and given it two exclamation marks. It appears he really means it. It could be suggested that the presented finger is the object that is to be inserted up one’s bum. Being a rather large finger, that would be a painful thing to do and therefore Banksy is threatening the viewer with physical pain. This is all the more worrying in that no one knows who Banksy is, thus he could be anywhere; waiting just around the corner with an exaggerated digit ready to sodomise you when you least expect it. If you should see a bar of soap on the sidewalk I would advise you don’t pick it up.

Vandalism bites. And that is such an artistic rock, -photogenic and would make an excellent subject for a painter to emulate

    This belongs under social media.
Art is in the eye of the beholder. Banksy does excellent art work. Better if he took a picture of the property he wished to add his art to and did so online. He could then actually make money from it.

This made me chuckle! you should do stand up. But I agree give someone the responsibility of a mouse running around an Apple and they will come up with all sorts of scams and crap. As for Banksy art copycats… we I don’t think he/she has to worry much! Up ya bum
