The election of Barak Obama marks a new milestone in the office of the Presidency. His style may not conform to that of his predecessor, but his ideology seems to pave the way toward goals that were once remote, such as a new era in the establishment of health care that is meeting with resistance in certain quarters.

We have witnessed a new drama,

One that was the first to be,

The actor being Barak Obama,

Just the man with ideas free!

His tools aren’t as common as

His predecessor’s style and brand,

Unabashed, he thinks he has

A plan for this time-honored land.

He sticks to what he feels is right,

Defends his views with no restraint;

His creed and conduct bring to light

The old Republican constraint.

He doesn’t hesitate nor swerve

From what he wants to say and do;

He has the fiber and the nerve

To pitch the old for what is new.

His choices and his varied picks,

Considered to be no less rare,

Based on his unbent politics

He doesn’t hesitate to share.

The basic purpose of his act

Is one that’s off the beaten track,

Such as he wants to sign a pact

With enemies to get them back.

A problem he must quickly solve –

Health care he has now proposed

He maintains with firm resolve,

To which he’s so well-disposed.

Let the general view be broader –

And the urgency be heeded,,

Overhaul the old-time order

That is overdue and needed.
