A nice poem on some hill billy trying to show his frustation over repeated barbarian invasions.

O Barbarians of the pathetic Plains,

You took what we had gathered with great pains!

Barbarians you are and Barbarians you shall be,

That is a curse from the Gods and from me!

You come and raid us without any reason,

Destroy our fields every single season!

Even the Huns you astound,

With your savageness we are abound!

Before you we never bowed,

In the future too you shall be cowed!

You are entangled in foolish fundamentalism,

Deprived of Intelligence and filled with extremism!

We too hope for some peace,

At least that you can lease!

Better be friends than foes,

You are offered calm’s dose!
