Conquering barrel racing on a noble horse.

You enter the arena astride your noble horse
Your muscles are tense your mind is racing
As you stare at the clover leaf course
Your horse snorts, he shakes his head
He’s ready to run at top speed
He knows why he’s there, he knows what to do
He’s the best of his breed
You’ve gone over this time and again
Exactly how this run should go
After many hours of practice
In a few short minutes you’ll know
His muscles bunch, he leaps into stride
As he takes to barrel one
He’s going so fast, you hope hell slow down
Oh remember, this is supposed to be fun!
He gathers himself, slides around the barrel
He’s off like a shot to two
You have tears in your eyes, he’s never gone this fast
You didn’t have a clue
He drops his rear
Gets around two and bolts for three
His stride is long, it’s all going well
You only wish you could see!
As he approaches the barrel, he gathers himself
Everything comes back into view
He makes a smooth turn, all 3 barrels are up
You foolishly yell “shoo shoo”
He runs hard and fast, to the finish line
His muscles as hard as a rock
You and your horse become one
As you race to beat the clock
The announcer shouts out your time
You can’t believe it’s the fastest of the day
You’ve been working so many hours
To have it happen that way
You leave the arena, astride your noble horse
Your muscles are relaxed, your mind is at ease
You’ve conquered that cloverleaf course
