A poem of love and desire.
Cast aside all cares.
Cross over with me
to sweet sensuous sleep.
There let us take
those treasures
that dream’s desires deliver.
———
I cherish my dreams of you.
Without them I would
but wander aimlessly
in the wasteland
of hopeless despair.
Your beauty is my beacon.
Yet your glory
shines so brilliant
that it beckons others
before me.
They steal your light.
I am left to flounder
in dismal dead darkness.
So I sink
into the sea of sadness
where no light illuminates
my misery.
There
doomed to dwell dreamless
evermore
by the curse
of your love lost.
