This is a double meaning story. It’s about something that Mike and Marianna got to spend a Christmas together without fear of any enemies. It is something more but I don’t want to go into that here.

Christmas…

It wasn’t always like it is now. It use to be about friends and family and giving free of yourself. Before that it was all about gathering together to survive the winter. Now it’s about the damn corporates making money off of people who can’t afford to pay for there own lives but pay for everything the corporates have. I know it’s a dismal view but if you look at the big picture that is what you will see.

I think a lot of my anger at this time of yeah has to do with the fact that I had little to look forward too on Christmas. Yes I had the kids and Carla and Ty but what I really wanted was something I couldn’t have. I wanted to spend Christmas with the woman I loved and our son. Something that couldn’t happen as long as Siercy, Brown and all of my own enemies.

I could have taken Kat and Xam and we could have gone to spend Christmas with Rajiv in Shangri La but that was not like being here at that time. Plus it was on lock down because of the Yeti in the area wanting to raid them because of a hard year. F*#%ing environmental change, never know what it will do. That coupled with the fact that the more people who are out spending money there were thieves out trying to take that money if they could, I wasn’t going to leave my city to muggings just because I was lonely.

Before you ask, the other heroes could handle it but most of them have families and the best known heroes don’t skulk around the lower city to stop a couple of minor crimes. Those bastards are to stuck up in their own importance. I’ve often wondered why I didn’t bring most of those heroes off of their high horses and make them pay attention to the little guy. If I had most of them might still be alive today.

Anyway I was on patrol one night just before Christmas when I saw something I had been expecting all that night. Three men assaulting a young woman. From the looks of her she was ether Angalis or a Luminis. It didn’t matter to me at all really. She needed my help and she was going to get it.
