A small lyric about beauty in its natural state.

There’s beauty here
In the shopping malls
and wal-marts
In the working faces
of the smokers
and the drinkers
In the tortured dogs
and crying babies

There’s elegance here
In the Coors Lite
and flipflops
In the scrap bookers
(the modern pottery makers)
The knocked up
in their knockoffs
In boxed wine Capri
and cork wedges

There’s wisdom here
On the billboards
and the Billboard
In the IHOP menu
On T-Shirt and X-Shirts
On discarded shopping bags
and magazine collages
On paint swatches
and car manuals

There are answers here
In future demolition protests
For highrises and minimalls
built yesterday
On 42 oz fountain drink cups
and the backs of scratch offs
In the eyes of a begging child
and the bottom of a cereal box
