New Poem.

I have to stop living in a make believe land

Chivalrous men don’t magically appear

To take a lady by the hand

He still won’t want you

But if I get my head out of the clouds

Someone else is bound to

The problem has never really been men

It has always been me

Believing in foolish fantasy

A normal life

A normal wife

It is me

I know it to be

Normalcy doesn’t come naturally

To change I must

To settle I dread

The choice has been taken from me

And Chivalry is dead

Very realistic but fantasy is entertaining if not taken too seriously. There are a lot of good stories about chivalry, of course, you still can enjoy even if they are just make believe. Fantasy is much better if you believe in it just a little.

It is one of those balancing acts. It is good to have some expectations and hope for better than average. On the other hand, when life only delivers what is average, we have to find the good in that and be grateful. It is a balance between living in a fantasy land and giving up on anything better that what we have.
