A poem about religion.
Do you believe in god or do you have a faith? The lowly street beggar asked.
He asked while directing traffic without a sign or even a hat.
No one saw him standing there, in the middle of the road.
Although there were cars and trucks and helicopters whizzing over head.
The day was long and he didn’t go.
The hours were hard but he stayed.
His lips turned blue from yelling out loud.
His eyes turned opaque.
They found him there on the ground the next day.
They had to cart him away.
Otherwise he would still be there asking,
Do you believe in god or in a faith?
