Blame the overcast sky for this poem.

By: EK Encarnacion

Aimlessly, I walk in solitude

In the middle of what seems to be

An endless cracked setted road

Once upon the time of magic carpet rides,

It was the two of us. You and me

Singing a duet at the prologue

But like the bleak morning dew,

You vaporized into the oblivion

And I was hurled into a black hole

Drowned in a sea of Anectine

Fallen stalactites enclosed my soul,

Trapped in your plaid nightmare

As raindrops pierce the ground

I’m caught in the middle of a war

And all I can breathe is air of despair

Where else do I run to?

When summer turned into winter

And all the evergreens have withered

What else do I hold on to?

When my palm keeps on bleeding

Empty promises wound like blunt dagger

Buried deep in the intricacies of my sonata

I still foolishly wait for your refrain

Behind the choruses of “I’m fine” lies

But is this precipitation my friend?

Perhaps. As my tears become invisible

Beneath the elephant-filled skies

I agree with Paps, nice imagery. Our bleak moments can indeed inspire us to write a beautiful piece.
