One of two takes on a poem idea.

Bereavement

Every night, for many years
The rain has plagued the sky, like tears
The winds have raged within a storm
That has no end, like pain and scorn
In darkness, drops fall from the sky
One by one, I’ve watched it cry
Falling freely without sound
Like shattered dreams, hitting the ground
Just look around, you’ll see them there
So many tears consume the air
Like all the secrets kept within
Like all the endings that begin
Like all the words still left unsaid
The tears of pain shed on your bed
And as you sleep, the skies will weep
And when you wake, with you they keep
And soon, the days become unclear
The rain falls down year after year
