Best Friend

Best friends are treasured forever.

I have lost the best friend I ever had

I lost him when I said bye to dad

I could always count of him being there

even if I was being selfish or unfair

My dad polished me up like a bright penny

dampened my self doubt so there was not any

he was just so kind and fatherly

and of course the best friend to me
