It’s that special time again! The poem will explain the rest…
Best Time of the Year
The tree is up and glittering,
The stockings are hung on the mantle.
The room is filled with the artificial sweet smells
Of pine, apple, and cinnamon.
Presents wrapped in the prettiest paper
Are set beneath the tree,
And the ornaments twinkle with glee.
A miniature model is set on the table,
Depicting the events of that oh so Holy night.
As well as a wreath complete with four candles,
Three purple, one pink…I talk of course of the advent wreath!
Each one lit for each week of Advent!
Yesterday morning I lit the pink one,
And I was filled with that particular kind of joy.
Yes, lighting the pink candle means Christmas is
In just one week!
This little pink candle on this wreath,
Says to prepare yourself
For the coming of our Savior.
And I’m sure I’m filled with that same kind of joy,
That the three glorious kings had felt when they saw this baby boy.
And I try to imagine how our dear Mother Mary was feeling
When she held the Son of Man in her hands.
She must’ve been glowing,
Her had to have been filled with the Holy spirit.
As she held the tiny babe close to her heart,
The one who will be the salvation of all mankind.
Rejoice, rejoice!
The time is almost here!
The time when our King will come!
Emanuel…
Shall come to thee, oh Israel!
Merry Christmas!
