A letter with most everything left unwritten…

Got your letter in the mail today–glad to hear you’re doing well.
(Your moving off to Hollywood is putting me through hell.)
So you got a job at Wal-Mart.  At least you won’t go broke.
(I hope your big star dreams don’t turn out to be a joke.)

I saw your folks at church last Sunday–talked to them awhile.
(They miss you but our talk of you brought both of them a smile.)
Miss Johnson at the post office said for me to tell you hi.
(I could tell she was thinking your dreams would never fly.)

Yes, of course, I take old Buster for a long walk every night.
(He won’t eat.  That old dog misses you–won’t let me out of sight.)
Your cat’s O.K.  He sleeps a lot and doesn’t make much mess.
(The dog and I miss you a lot.  Old Tom–he couldn’t care less.)

Stay up on your auditions out there–show them what you’ve got.
(I know you think you’re talented but just maybe, Hon, you’re not.)
Break a leg.  Get that contract.  Record a new hit song.
(No! Dang it!  I don’t mean that.  Come back where you belong.)

    Ken
    And, I thought I could write letters. I don’t know…
Is the world ready for two people with a Leathal Weapon in hands? Still smiling!
