A poem on saying goodbye.

I hate goodbyes.
It’s corny and sad.
To me,
goodbye doesn’t necessarily mean forever.
Goodbye-Adieu-Farewell-So long,
all these are just another way of saying
“til we meet again”.
It is only when we ceased to exist
that goodbye is sealed with finality.
But as long as the world keeps on turning,
as long as life exists –
the possibilities of crossing paths again never wane.
For every “goodbye” we utter,
there is a corresponding “hello” to some stranger,
someone we just meet.
The possibilities are indeed endless!
And it all starts by simply bidding adieu.

    Phillip,

Thank you. It was a poem I wrote when I resigned from my job. I was bidding goodbye to my friends and officemates.

By the way, your name sounds so familiar.
