My version of Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi”.
Oh, how nice, this a wonderfull day
The sights downtown, the crowded walks,
And the swan-ky hotel stay
Take me past the city hall
On main street to the shop-ping mall
Oh, how nice, this is a wonderfull day
The lady said,” this is simple, but chic!”
Real leather shoes and a matching bag
At this snob-by boutique
I hate the expensive hair salon
But like the park with the well kept lawn
Oh, how nice, this a wonderfull day
Starbucks is swank, but really breaks the bank
And the s.u.v.’s really makes the air smell rank
I don’t even know if you really care
But I’d like to breathe some fresh, clean air
Oh, how nice, this a wonderfull day
Big yellow taxi, take me home right now
Take me out of the city
And back to that real-ly small town
Back to the place I wanna be
To the simple life where I feel free
Oh, how nice this is a wonderfull day
