This is about birds and a longing for more in life.
Birds flitter around,
Outside of my house,
By the window.
Chirping and tweeting,
They flutter their wings,
Blurs of feathers,
Blurs of color.
They soar to the sky,
Competing with the clouds and the sun
For attention,
Winning it briefly as they swoop down,
Into my line of vision.
And I wish for just one moment,
That I, too, could
Spread my wings,
And fly over the sun.
