1. There was a kingdom called Kosala,

1. Its capital was Ayodhya,

1. The King Dasaratha ruled this country.

1. He had 3 wives,

1. They were Kowsalya,Kaikeyi and Sumitra.

1. He had one regret,

1. He had no son,

1. He asked the suggestion of Sage Vasista,

1. He did fire sacrifice,

1. Out came from the fire, a divine ambassador,

1. With sweet porridge in a golden vessel,

1. Kowsalya took a part of it,

1. Kaikeyi had a part of it,

1. Sumitra too drank a part of it,

1. Kowsalya gve birth to Sri Rama,

1. Kaikeyi gave birth to Bharat,

1. And Sumitra the two sons,

1. Lakshman and Satrugna,

1. Dasaratha was very happy,

1. So also the mothers,

1. You are happy  too,

1. I am also happy,

1. Let Sri ram bless all of us

1. To have peace and happiness

1. To all in this world of ours
