A little prayer for those of us who suffer from the opinion that our own opinion is all that matters.

Forgive me Lord my lack of sight,
For seeing things in black and white.
From white to black in one quick blink;
I’ve mostly missed how others think.
Lone point of view, all I can see–
Comes from myself, oh perfect me.
No vivid tints or subtle hues,
Lends reason for what others do.
From black to white and back again,
How many times I’ve hurt a friend?
I’ve viewed this world a mystery,
Blind to the vista others see.
Now Lord I plead in humble prayer,
To help me see what’s really there.
Please show the colors I’ve concealed,
Another’s viewpoints now revealed.
Then I may see with sight renewed,
A world in shades of countless hues.
Include those colors I will hate,
Bad deeds that seal a good man’s fate.
As well as hues of love and grace,
Tints of laughter spiced to taste.
Black to white and white to black
Please Lord provide the shades I lack.
