A frightful Halloween night
this poem is based on a true story.

Feeling alone, locked in my room

for what seemed eternity.

I looked out my window

on the night of Halloween.

I saw a sight that I will never forget.

There was a Black Bird on the ledge.

I tried so desperately to shew it away.

But, it wouldn’t budge.

It kept tapping at my window,

so i closed the blind.

It flew away.

To this day

I still have a feeling

that the Black Bird

was someone from a past

of mine that

was trying to reach me.

I don’t know why

but, when I think about that night,

the chills and shivers go up and down my spine.

I get freaked and dare not look behind.

Liked the idea but, to me, it seemed about half way between prose and poetry.
