Just a nightmare I had a while back.

(Night Terror by MostlyMade from Photobucket)

In evenings pass
a breath awakes.
Taken by the darkness,
overcome,
suffocation , breathless.

Sulpher smells.
Death hands permeate
blackness.
Stricken by the madness;
shallow breath.

Nowhere to run.
Take cover under
uncertainty.
Evil licks upon
softest flesh.

Mouths that speak of rage
and sour emotion.
Invading sanctuary
upon wicked stare
consuming.

Close.
Nearness still.
Softest air that passes
over veins
with quickness strikes.

Awakend in delusion
to familiar smells
of foul flesh.
Turning
over pits of stomach.

Cannot run on skinned
feet,
nor take a breath that
he has taken.
Hands without fingers.

The door never opens.
Chained
to stained sheets.
Forced to
watch.

In silent death
awaits
the second coming.
Allowing that which
has been taken
to be given again.

Alone,
a heart beats.
Wishing on an end.
Fighting the demons.
Waiting on the light.

Gee, I wouldn’t want to be in a nightmare like this!

I always woke up with my heart pounding when I had a nightmare, which thankfully, is not often.

    Take care,
    Kheng
