A poem expressing how I wish things could be simple again.
I want a blank page,
With all the possibilities,
The secrets to unlock.
It could be anything I want it to be:
A mindless doodle,
A meaningful letter.
Even a compulsory essay.
A blank page to be used by me and me alone.
That is what I want.
It wouldn’t judge,
It lets me use it as I wish,
It takes whatever form I wish it to:
A drawing of the landscape,
A secret note to a friend.
Or a poem that blossoms deep inside.
I want a blank page,
To have the freedom of choice,
I wouldn’t have to do anything with it.
But if I wished to, it would be there, waiting.
A blank page,
A second chance,
A fresh start,
A chance to correct any mistakes:
A misplaced word
Or a sentence left unsaid.
All I want is a chance to make things simple again.
