Poetry.

Blankets.

I am the most sought after product of the cold,

People cannot sleep at night without keeping me at hold,

I am created out of cotton and wool,

My presence gives a warm feeling whether it is less cool.

Rajasthan and Kashmir are famous for my creation,

Children, old and young people have my passion,

But I am only used by the rich and wealthy,

It’s a pity that I cannot keep the poor healthy.

With the addition of prices lower middle class cannot afford me,

The shop associations and companies earn wide profits through me,

I feel bad when people forget me after the passing of the winter,

I would have been happy if I could serve the people all round the year.

In the cold places in India and other third world countries, blankets save the old persons from facing diseases during winter. Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, North East India face severe cold wave during December and January every year. Blankets are sold more frequently in those areas to balance the cold wave.
