A moment in life when everything seems perfect.

Bliss Moments

All Photos from author’s own garden

          ****

I have just had a bliss moment,

One of those times we have now and then,

When you feel everything around you is perfect,

And it just might not happen again.

I was sitting here in the garden

Bathed in the sun’s rosy glow.

A butterfly was hovering over the petunias

And a gentle breeze through them did blow.

Everything looked so pretty and new

Though the summer was well on its way.

Larkspur and geraniums filled the air

With such perfumes on this lovely day.

The tomatoes were showing their first blush of red,

Gleaming in the bright golden rays,

Taking away all thoughts we may have

Of the coolness of autumn days.

A seagull perched on a nearby wall

Calling out to his far away mate.

Perhaps he was hoping that today

They might get together for a date.

                      ****

Moments like this happen so few times

That they always stick in the mind,

To give us cheer during cold winter days

When indoors we’re so often confined.

    Hi Christine,
I found you from another article that was posted. A call to arms for all members”. I added you as a friend as I enjoy writing poetry also. I would love to be able to write as smooth flowing as you do some day. Being that you are a teacher I hope that you will feel free to critique some of my poems and give me a few pointers. I loved the way you added the pictures, they had such great quality. You almost made me feel as though I was sitting right there beside you as everything was happening. How much better could your poetry have gotten? I don’t think there was a single thing that you could have done to have made it any better. It was just perfect!
