Lives in bondage – there is a hope that is beyond all other and a lesson from history that foretells the greatest hope of all.

For years they’d live in bondage

in a cruel and foreign land,

God’s chosen, first Israel then Judah,

They’d forsaken God’s commands

and no longer knew God’s blessings

because they were bound by sin

but God in His grace and mercy,

because God still loved them

brought plagues upon their captors

and warned His children again,

to repent their idol worship,

to turn their hearts to Him

and He would guide them safely

back to the promised land

but only, only if

they followed His commands.

God said, sacrifice the favored lamb,

spread its blood on your door post

and in the night when death shall come

through the Holy Ghost

who shall pass o’er this evil land,

He shall not touch your home

nor take your children from you;

this blood will for your sin atone

when your hearts are repentant,

in me you trust and believe,

When all the land will mourn death’s plague

my blessing you’ll receive.

In the dawn, in their awakening,

your captors, they will know

evil bondage can not bind the faithful

and they must let my people go.

God spoke and it was so…

And that lamb that saved God’s children

foreshadowed things to come

when the Lamb of God would shed His blood,

God’s only begotten Son

would give His all so we may live;

the bonds of sin, shame overcome.

He conquered death and gives us life

and God’s will shall be done

for the Lamb of God, Lord Jesus Christ

has the victory won.

The day is surely coming

when we too will be set free

but we must follow the Lord, Jesus Christ,

in Him trust and believe.

There is soon a new world coming

where Jesus will reign as King

in the promised land, our peaceful home

for those who follow Him,

believe, accept the sacrifice, this gift,

the blood of the Lamb,

Most Holy Son, Lord Jesus Christ,

Son of the great I Am.
