Two verses, each similar yet following a rhyme scheme that hops about and changes from one verse to the other. Take some time to compare the wording of each, line for line. Inspired when at school, and I drew the back of my fountain pen across the palm of my hand, making it look like I’d cut myself and I was bleeding blue ink.
The kinfe,
Blue blood,
Cut through
My skin.
A flood
Of tears
Pours through,
Let in
By you-
Your sword
Strikes down;
Hits hard:
Now feel
My frown
Upon
These shards
Of glass.
They’re in
Your eye,
So say
Goodbye
To all
This life,
And fly
With me.
The kite,
Blue sky,
Cuts through
So bright.
A flood
Of clouds
Pours through,
Let in
By you,
Your string
Flies fast;
So soft:
Now feel
My grin
Upon
The croft
Of hills.
They’re in
Your sight,
So stop
And sigh
At all
This life.
Kite, fly
With me.
