Crackling orange embers slowly taking flight
Softly floating upwards into the dead of night
Children wearing scarfs wrapped up warm and snug
squealing, giggling, nervous, anxious for a hug
Adults laughing merrily as lights fill the night
Purple, pink, red and green, yellow, blue and white
Boom, bang, whizz, fireworks bursting by
