A poem about a golden retriever called Bonnie.
Bonnie the Golden Retriever
Dons her name extremely well
Her fur flowing in the breeze
As she dashes through the dell
-
As she gets more excited
Her tail wagging with vigour
Pouncing through the heather
His owner shouting come hither
-
Bonnie being the cheeky rebel
Turns and bounds quickly away
Dipping deep beneath the bracken
She’s only wanting to play
-
As she comes back to heel
A stick is thrown down the dale
Bounding onward seeking her goal
She’s not wanting to fail
-
Her prize between her teeth
Returning to her masters voice
Placing it carefully at his feet
Panting full of rejoice
