Boo Radley, from "To Kill A Mockingbird", speaks…well, sort of.
Trapped
Alone
Can’t leave
Imprisoned
In my own
Home sweet home
Since I surfaced
Into the Earth
Prison to prison
Never free
Prison in womb
Prison in “home”
Yet no handcuffs
Are on these hands
Went crazy with scissors
For just a brief second
But all I regret
Was that it wasn’t high enough
To kill him
Though dearest brother
Is worse
I stare out the window
And long to be out there
The town may mock me
But they have never known
The torture
Of never being out there
With everyone else
