Her big brown eyes stare at me

If only they could talk

Would they say can we play

Or maybe go for a walk?

Bonnie is the cleverest dog

Although she barks on sight

She only wants to play

She never wants to fight

Although she is getting old now

She still clowns around

She has her puppy moments

When she races up and down

If she could only speak to me

I know what she would say

Let me have my nap now
