Another depressing poem…

this sorrow is not my own

this bitter taste upon my tongue

it came from another place

to settle on me like soft rain

bringing a gradual feeling of helplessness

i know not where to look

as the world falls to pieces around me

the ground on which i stand crumbles

the sky above me cracks

stars fall like plaster from a ceiling

burying deep inside my heart

like shards of icy glass

burning like fire

through my veins

and i fall

gently

into

emptiness…

if anyone has a *good* synonym for “emptiness” (not blackness, nothingness, obivion, etc.) please post it here so that i can revise…
    thank you!
