A runner and is bottle of water.

Bottled enlightenment
Gripped determination, reactionary poise,
Starter pistol fires, runners are off!
Frozen bottled water, clamped in each hand, momentum and refreshment.
Pickled, cryogenically petrified,
Pure child-like transparency,
Naively reactive and transient.
Blissful, adrenaline drunk,
Struggling for rhythm someone tries to overtake the runner,
Competitive vanity runs harder, hypo-awareness.
Ice-crystal children individually ascend,
Petrified naivety into mechanical liquidity,
Heightening conscious, encouraging other deserters.
Gripping hands brand impressions into the ice,
Rhythm finally reached, repetition takes control,
The mind greys-over focusing only on the regular breathing rhythm.
Bound fluid contained,
Motorised instinct maturing,
Clear, magnifying clarity.
The liquid is drained away, swallowed,
Revitalising the runner, keeping levels constant,
Balanced, controlled.
Journeying along its path to enlightenment,
Mechanical liquidity evaporates,
Continues flow of fluid deserters heightening consciousness.
Purification through perspiration glands,
The runners are awash with sweat,
Vaporous steam leaving the body.
Ghost-like vapour,
little fluffy-like,
Immaterial!
Blissful controlled rhythm,
With pure clarity they run,
Body and mind unify.
Journeys final evolutionary leap,
Exiting physical reality,
Aware of every inner and out force,
Unification

What an intense write. Lots of activity in it with much depth.

You manage a lot of activity and imagery in this piece and it still all flows smoothly and comes together well. Michael
